“Values Month”: a European overview of the different activities shared by the Clariane community

Clariane Group

Trust, Responsibility, Initiative. Our three values are at the heart of our commitment and guide our day-to-day actions. These values are our compass and they forge a common culture throughout the Clariane community. Every year in June, the Group celebrates its values during a dedicated “Values Month”. It is an opportunity for our employees to take full ownership of them, and to deepen their knowledge of what underpins them.

Our values are the foundation of the different professions of our 67,000 professionals working in all the countries in which we operate. Our new mission statement is concrete proof of this: it unites our Clariane community behind one and the same ambition. Thanks to the contribution of all our employees, the various initiatives undertaken by all our countries have been a real success. They have also allowed us to reaffirm our values as a source of inspiration and a guide to behaviour in our day-to-day practice.

The Clariane Values Game

In all the Group’s countries, employees are able to familiarise themselves with “Let’s Talk Values”, our game which looks at the values in a practical, fun and friendly way. The game presents commonly occurring situations to help employees develop their ethical thinking and make the most appropriate decisions. There are several versions of the game, for group or individual sessions, with a digital module developed by the Group.

In France, employees at the Paris Balzac Head Office had the opportunity to take part in the Values Game. The themes resonated with the work carried out in the support functions, so that the teams could reflect on their practices and their knowledge of the Group's procedures and policies.

In Italy, new scenarios were created around the Group’s values. Team spirit was put to the test in the facilities with “E tu quante ne sai?” (“And how many do you know?”). Each week, employees took part in a quiz on one of the values, with the aim of winning their facility a prize in a specific category, such as highest participation rate, most correct answers, etc.

In Germany, several sessions of the Values Game were organised at all facilities and Head Offices. This year, the spotlight was on the Trust value. A Trust feedback card was used to pay tribute to a colleague.

Meanwhile, Spain conducted employee surveys to ascertain their views on how the values are used in their day-to-day work. They also ran sessions of the game and webinars on the subject.

”Vis ma vie” (“A Day in The Life”): Head Office staff experience immersion in their facilities

With “Vis ma vie”, employees at the Clariane France Head Offices spent a day discovering the day-to-day life of a professional working in our Inicea clinics or Korian care homes.

The initiative, which ran from 5 to 16 June, was a response to the desire of employees in support functions to forge closer links with the operational teams in the field and to gain a better understanding of their day-to-day work. A special time for sharing, giving them first-hand experience of the operational teams’ actions, expertise and commitment to our patients and residents!

In all, around 140 employees took part in the operation in 31 of our facilities in France.

The teams at Berkley Care Group in the United Kingdom conduct these immersions throughout the year, starting in March. Similarly, in Belgium and the Netherlands, the “Vis ma vie” operation is organised on an ongoing basis.

Jeu des Valeurs

We hosted height Head Office employees at our facility. Philippe, our chef, Ermiht, our executive assistant, and Marie-Josie and Jacqueline, our ASH (hotel service agents), were proud to spend the day showing them our workplace and our everyday environment and including them in their different roles so they could fully experience our expertise and our projects. We were delighted to welcome them and share our daily lives with them, and especially proud to involve them in the work we carry out every day for our residents. “Values Month” is an excellent initiative that creates links, strengthens our community and promotes our values, whatever our profession.

B:Together, the Berkley Care Group podcast

In the UK, Berkley Care Group employees have also launched "B:Together”, a monthly podcast dedicated to the care professions. The first episode, “Why Our Values Matter”, focused on Clariane's values. Nadine Barlow, Clariane's UK Values Ambassador, explains: "The podcast allows us to focus on topics that are of interest to our teams, and to communicate through a modern channel that is accessible to everyone.
