A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of Créteil, Dr Françoise Weber began her career as a general practitioner. She then held various positions as Director of Drug Safety, notably at Delagrange, Bavarois and Parke-Davis.
Strengthened by her experience in the medical sector, Dr Françoise Weber subsequently joined the Directorate General of Health as a Medical Devices Policy Officer and then the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (Agence Nationale de Sécurité du Médicament et des produits de santé “ANSM”) as Deputy Secretary General of the Transparency Commission.
In 2006, she successively served as Deputy Director of the Office of the Minister of Health before being appointed Deputy Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of Labour. In 2007, she became Director General of the French Institute for Public Health Watch (Institut de Veille Sanitaire). At the same time, she chaired the Board of Directors of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control until 2015.
From 2014 to 2015, Dr Françoise Weber joined the Ministry of Solidarity and Health as Deputy Director General for Health. Finally, she held the position of Deputy Director General for Regulated Products for the French Food, Environment and Labour Safety Agency (French Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail “ANSES”) until 2019.
She currently chairs Clariane France Stakeholder Council.
